Every desktop or notebook or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program that interacts with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, and any applications that are installed on the system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, every single app runs within the parameters set by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This goes for both standard site scripts and server-side software like a media server. When a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so you'll be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the most stable and reliable OSs available and we supply all three instead of just one since we realize that you may want to install some software which has specific requirements regarding the Operating System it will run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a large support community behind it and there are different software packages you could install on the hosting server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you would like to use one and for that reason we offer multiple Control Panels as well. In case you decide that you need to have some other OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the present one and install the one that you need. In addition, we offer an optional service to maintain the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers we offer come with as many as 3 different Operating Systems as we want to give you more versatile packages that will let you install and run any type of web software whatever its system requirements. The options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these 3 OSs are among the most reliable and secure ones, not mentioning that they don't have any kind of license charges. All three have thousands of developers who have created countless software packages that you could install and use on your web server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one you can use is determined by the Operating System that you select when you register. If you need a different OS afterwards, it won't be a problem as we can always reinstall your server. With our Managed Services package we could also keep your OS secure by updating it on a weekly basis with any patches which are available for it.
